Van Gogh Cafe is one of the most popular photo destinations at Lotte World Mall in Seoul, Korea. Officially licensed by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the cafe features a curated collection of over 700 works by Vincent van Gogh, along with a selection of officially authenticated merchandise from the museum.

Inspired by Vincent’s Chair, the chair was reinterpreted as a symbolic metaphor representing Van Gogh himself and the intimate space he once inhabited. This concept allowed the cafe to present Van Gogh not only through his artworks, but also through a spatial and emotional narrative.

반 고흐 카페(Van Gogh Cafe)는 서울 롯데월드몰을 방문하는 고객들에게 가장 인기 있는 포토 스폿 중 하나로, 네덜란드 암스테르담 반 고흐 미술관의 공식 라이선스를 기반으로 운영되는 공간입니다. 약 700여 점의 반 고흐 작품이 큐레이션되어 전시되며, 미술관에서 공식 인증한 다양한 굿즈도 함께 선보이고 있습니다.

본 프로젝트에서는 반 고흐의 작품 Vincent’s Chair에서 영감을 받아, 의자를 반 고흐 자신과 그의 작업 공간을 상징하는 메타포로 재해석했습니다. 이를 통해 작품 중심의 전시를 넘어, 반 고흐의 존재와 세계관을 공간적으로 경험할 수 있는 스토리텔링을 구현하고자 했습니다.
