ISTD 2012 : The Waitress
The Brief for ISTD 2012 competition was to use the text of The Waitress, a tale by Jack Zipes, to re-invent an alternative reading experience for today’s new reader. My response to the brief was to create an interactive iPad application for typographers, design students, and people who are just interested in typography. I developed a function for users/readers to discover the information of the typefaces used on each page. Moreover, since this book was designed as a typography inspirational book, I intended to use as many typefaces as possible. Considering different weights and styles in a type-family, a total of 109 fonts was used throughout this project.
